Every realistic silicone product we make is built on the same proprietary foundation: a medical-grade platinum-cure silicone base and eight in-house technologies developed over fourteen years of hyperrealism R&D. Platinum 2.0™ — Medical-Grade Material Base

Our base material is medical-grade platinum-cure silicone, ISO 10993 certified for skin contact. Unlike TPE, latex, tin-cure rubber or cold resins used by competitors, Platinum 2.0™ silicone is hypoallergenic, non-porous (antibacterial), UV-stable and chemically inert. It maintains full flexibility and colour integrity for over 45 years.

Intrinsic Coloration 2.0™

Pigments are infused directly into the liquid silicone matrix during casting — not painted on the surface. Light travels through the epidermis and scatters in the dermis, exactly as in biological tissue. The result: skin that reads as alive under any lighting condition, in any camera resolution. Nothing fades, peels or flakes because the colour lives inside the silicone.

Sub-Surface Scattering (SSS) Engineering™

The SSS effect — previously locked behind Hollywood studio NDAs — simulates how light penetrates skin and scatters back. Our implementation reproduces the subtle red glow of capillary networks, the translucency of earlobes and fingertips, and the variable opacity of aged versus young skin.

Capillary Network

Hand-painted micro-veins and pigmentation spots are embedded under the final silicone layer. They are visible only under specific lighting and add the subtle “pulsating” realism that turns a static face into one that reads as biologically alive.

8K Forensic Skin Topology™

Every pore, fine line, follicle channel and micro-scar is sculpted from high-resolution forensic anatomical data, in collaboration with forensic material scientists. The surface holds up to 4K and 8K macro lenses — the kind of close-up scrutiny that exposes lesser materials immediately.

Anatomical Power Mesh System™

The thinnest, highest-stress zones — eye corners, mouth perimeter, neck and joint articulations — are reinforced with a bi-directional elastic mesh integrated into the silicone at the casting stage. It stretches in two axes, distributes wear evenly and is invisible from outside.

Moving Mouth Technology™

Our masks support full facial mimicry transfer — lip movement, smile, speech articulation, micro-expressions — translated to the silicone surface in real time. A 5–10% negative draft creates a vacuum-seal fit that locks the mask to the wearer’s facial geometry; expression transfer is instantaneous.

Hand Punching & Hair Implantation™

Every strand — eyebrows, eyelashes, scalp hair, beard, body hair — is implanted individually by hand using micro-needle punching inherited from the top tier of Hollywood prosthetics. A full-head implantation takes 40–80 hours. There are no shortcuts. Because each follicle angle and density variation is set by a human hand, no two pieces are ever identical — every S.M.LAB product is by nature a one-of-a-kind artifact.

3D Scanning & Digital Sculpting Integration™

We combine traditional artisan sculpting with advanced 3D scanning, photogrammetry and digital modeling. Our 3D specialists process high-resolution facial scans, validate anatomical accuracy and produce digital masters that guide both pre-production and final hand-finishing.

Makeup Canvas

Because platinum silicone is chemically inert and non-porous, it accepts and releases cosmetics endlessly without staining. Standard water-based and silicone-based foundations, powders, lipsticks, eyeshadows, SFX pigments and theatrical paints all work — wash off with warm pH-neutral soap. Practical detail is in applying real makeup on a silicone mask. Avoid alcohol, acetone and acidic solvents.

Sizing and Fit

Standard mask sizes fit the majority of adult heads. For male archetypes, approximately 56–59 cm head circumference (≈ 22–23.2 in); for female archetypes, approximately 54–59 cm (≈ 21.3–23.2 in). The platinum silicone stretches comfortably across this range. For wearers outside it, we offer a custom-sized service based on full 3D scanning.

Care

Wash with pH-neutral soap and warm running water. Pat dry, store on a foam head form, away from direct sunlight. Avoid acetone, alcohol-based removers and acidic solvents. If silicone develops a slight gloss from skin oils over time, restore the matte finish with micronised silica powder. Minor surface damage (rare) can be repaired with platinum-grade silicone adhesive — we offer a professional repair service.
